Today we published our Climate Action Plan (CAP), which outlines our commitment to combating climate change through short-, medium- and long-term greenhouse gas emission reduction targets and the main actions we will put in place to achieve them, enabling the transition to low-emission mobility.
During our 2022 AGM, the Plan was approved by an advisory shareholders’ vote («Say on Climate») with >98% votes For, becoming the first Italian company to undertake this decision of maximum transparency and responsibility towards the market.
The document - prepared according to the guidelines of the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) - presents how the issue of climate change fits into the broader context of governance, managing risks from rising temperatures, and identifying opportunities from the transition to a low-carbon economy.
The identified objectives are:
- Reduce direct emissions (scope 1 & 2) to Net Zero by 2040, 10 years earlier than required by the Paris Agreement
- Move to 100% renewable electricity consumption by 2040
- Reduce the intensity of indirect emissions (scope 3) from airport accessibility and road maintenance purchases by 22% by 2030, accounting for more than 80% of indirect emissions we can act on
