In the context of the ongoing search for innovative solutions to reduce waste and support local communities, Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, part of our Asset Company Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur, has renewed its partnership agreement with Restos du Cœur. This collaboration, initiated as a pilot project in March 2022, has proven so successful that it was extended to all airport terminals the following year.
The initiative allows passengers to donate items prohibited in the cabin, which would otherwise be destroyed, to the Restos du Cœur association. This agreement has enabled the collection and donation of hundreds of thousands of items, significantly reducing waste and providing concrete assistance to those in need: approximately 117,000 products have been donated in 18 months.
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the first airport in France to implement such an initiative, which has inspired other airports to follow suit. The collaboration with Restos du Cœur represents an important step towards more sustainable resource management and a concrete commitment to social responsibility.
