Our growth path will involve a series of strategic initiatives designed to provide support for the companies in our Group. In this committment we aim at reinforcing Aeroporti di Roma’s leadership in the sector in terms of innovation, sustainability, and quality of service, leveraging the subsidiary’s competencies and experience.
In this perspective we are very proud that for the fourth year running, ADR’s “Leonardo da Vinci” airport receives the award as Europe's most popular airport among passengers. This was announced by ACI (Airports Council International) - the international association that independently measures perceived quality in over 350 airports worldwide through interviewing travellers - which awarded Fiumicino airport the "Airport Service Quality Award" for 2020.
The recognition comes in one of the most difficult and challenging years for the air transport sector. In particular, travellers at “Leonardo da Vinci” appreciated the effort Rome Airports made to guarantee a quality service even during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Roman hub achieves this award with a score of 4.47 on an annual basis compared to a maximum of 5. Specifically, the cleanliness of the terminals, the clarity of information to the public, the courtesy of the staff, the waiting time at the security checkpoints and the facilities at the airport are among the services most appreciated by passengers at “Leonardo da Vinci”.
The excellence is confirmed also in 2021: ADR has in fact achieved an all-time record for Fiumicino airport in terms of passenger satisfaction according to the most recent surveys carried out by Airport Council International - the international association that independently measures the quality perceived in over 300 airports worldwide. In the second quarter of 2021, Fiumicino recorded a new absolute record, reaching an evaluation of 4.65 out of 5, an even higher score than the previous one. This result confirms the excellence of Italy's main airport, which ranks first in the satisfaction of travellers, surpassing all European airports with more than 40 million passengers.
