Tell us about your journey
I was born in Brazil, I studied in the United States, and lived in many different countries such as Scotland and Italy. I have been lucky to work with different cultures from all over the world, such as the Middle East, Asia, Europe, North, and Latin America, and this enriched me in my personal and professional life. Each culture has taught me something different that has helped shape the person that I am today. I started my career in a very large company with complex processes. Then I created my own startup that taught me the importance of working fast. Both these experiences allowed me to set the pace of my career, without forgetting the quality of my work.
What does your work bring you?
There is a saying that “haste is the enemy of perfection”. My professional career taught me to appreciate and take to the limit this unbalance. I like to work reaching for perfection in every detail, while sustaining the maximum speed. To seek these ambitious results, it is essential the role of my team, as all the parts must work together to deliver optimal results.
What did you bring to our company and what did our company bring you for the period you worked at holding level?
I like to think that I brought a lot of cultural diversity to this company, and it was nice to see how much it was appreciated by all my colleagues. With the help of my team, I also brought to Mundys a modern and secure infrastructure that is forward-looking and scalable, ready to support the company´s growth in any direction. From Mundys I take with me first and foremost my beloved colleagues and friends with whom I have bonded over the past 2 years. I also bring with me a huge wealth of new knowledge from a technical and leadership perspective. I really feel that I have compressed 10 years of my career into just 2 years.
What does the opportunity in Yunex Traffic represent for you?
Yunex Traffic is for me my next step of my professional life, in a new country and new international reality, in which I will be able to apply my expertise and skills at a product level, leading a team of great people and highly skilled professionals responsible for enabling security in critical public infrastructures.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced during your time within the Mundys Group?
The biggest challenges that I faced were managing the solid and tight timelines we had in the IT carveout project, and in building a brand-new digital infrastructure for the holding. The tight deadline dictated that the system we created had to work on the first try, with no space for failure or second chances. The IT carveout project was extremely complex, but it was also a great learning opportunity that made me grow a lot.
What is your biggest achievement of your professional life?
I don´t think that there is a single biggest achievement. I believe that at each phase of my career I had challenges that were the biggest yet at that stage. Looking back at these stages, I find that having had the courage to constantly get out of my comfort zone awarded me with the biggest opportunities for success and growth.
What advice would you give to university students or young professionals thinking about a career in your area?
The right advice can highly depend on the career aspirations of each one. If I had to rank the most impactful advice I would say: never stay in the comfort zone for too long; don´t create roots on a single geography early in the career; never underestimate the importance of developing leadership skills and emotional intelligence, as developing in these areas is as important as mastering technical skills; and last but not least, being happy and healthy should always come before being successful.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I am 35 years old now. In 5 years, I will be 40 years old. Even though I feel that I have done so much, it gets me thinking when I realize that I am still much closer to my career´s start line than I am from its finish line. Five years from now, besides from being outside of my comfort zone, I see myself wiser and more engaged in helping the younger generations.
