Rome, Friday, 14 April 2023. Today’s General Meeting of Azzurra Aeroporti SpA’s shareholders has appointed Prof. Claudio De Vincenti as the Company’s new Chairman, assigning him responsibility for overseeing Azzurra Aeroporti’s and its subsidaries’ relations with the french authorities, in addition to those with supranational entities and organisations. Azzurra Aeroporti SpA, a Mundys Group company whose shareholders also include the Principality of Monaco and EDF Invest, controls Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, which operates Nice, Cannes and Saint Tropez airports. This represents France’s second most important airport system after Paris, handling more than 12 million passengers in 2022. Nice airport is currently engaged in an investment programme worth a total of €1.5 billion with the aim of increasing the capacity of the airport serving France’s number two tourist destination. Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur’s three airports have achieved the highest level of Airport Carbon Accreditation, having committed to cutting direct emissions to zero by 2030. Claudio De Vincenti joined the Mundys Group in March 2021 as Chairman of Aeroporti di Roma. He is an expert in regulatory affairs and industrial policy. He has been a Professor of Political Economy at the La Sapienza University in Rome, where he worked on policies promoting competition among public utilities, and a senior fellow at the Luiss School of European Political Economy. He has served four different executives as Minister for Territorial Cohesion and Southern Italy, Under-Secretary to the Cabinet Office and as Under-Secretary and Deputy Minister for Economic Development.
